Good game. Only complaint is: WHY ARE YOU MAKING IT SO LOOT IS DPS BASED. HEALERS/TANKS CAN NEVER GET ANY LOOT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T OUT DPS THE DPS CLASSES!!! Did you fall on your head when you made that system up?! FIX IT! Added complaint after much frustration (1 day after review): WHY DO I HAVE TO KILL OVER 500 CRABS FOR ONLY 1 SALT (only an uncommon rarity cooking ingredient, btw) TO LVL COOKING, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS?! Edit: Amazon said there is a bug with Lucents (premium paid currency). If you bought Lucents and it shows 0 Lucents (like me), they say they will fix it. I lost 2800+ bought Lucents, so I hope I get them back and FULL COMPENSATION for not being able to use what I bought. Anyways, don't buy anything until they fix this. I have warned you all! Edit 2: My Lucents are back, but the shop can potentially still be buggy. I don't recommend purchasing until they announce a permanent fix to this issue and hecc, if I was a healer/tank main, I wouldn't even spend on this game until they fix the drop system. Like I said, it's a good game, but those issues can't be ignored and are honestly pathetic to see.

Not recommend this game , i am extremely disappointed with how this issue has been handled. I was never properly informed about the rules, yet I have been punished twice, leaving me with a -55K Lucent balance. As a deaf player, I have tried to communicate my situation, but my concerns seem to be ignored, making me feel discriminated against. Due to this sanction, I am unable to: -Earn profit from interserver bosses/events (0 profit in Sollant and Lucent). -Sell items in the auction house. -Gain rewards from castle sieges (0 Sollant and Lucent). -Purchase items from shops due to my negative balance. Even after buying 6K Lucent (€100), the 21% castle tax made the situation worse, which does not seem fair. TL said "Players may choose to make new Lucent purchases to restore previous account status, but must get their balance above zero to remove all restrictions" how many remove negative lucent -55k over 1000 euro what do i have to buy again? NEVER ! This punishment feels excessive and unjust. I request a full review of my case and reconsideration of my restrictions.

Tldr: A dangerously addictive design, a toxic player base, an exploitative f2p system, and a second job. I wouldn’t start playing. The long read: I was a max geared player, literal max, double arch boss and level 60 runes, multiple gear sets, and a 4300 gearscore alt. I was a top player in the #1 guild on a server and logged in every moment I could. The final point that killed the game for me was the the toxic community ruining the fun for me. I enjoyed the fact I could put 16 hour days in, 70 hour weeks in T&L with a full time job to top it off. It devoured every waking hour, my entire life, since release. The game has so much to addict you and keep you logged in and coming back. The amount of FOMO is insane. The amount of chores. You need to do your 10 contracts a day, your three one star dungeons, your two two star dungeons, go to world bosses, do the bi hourly events, do night time pvp, do your weekly pvp arena wins, burn your abyssal tokens, do your rune dungeons, etc etc the same content for weeks and weeks and you feel like you Have to. The game incentivises you to do it so bad by making the cash shop currency the auction house/trading currency. You need to keep doing these little things to save yourself hundreds of dollars later, earn some money now for the future, while giving you stuff to whittle away at it like a battle pass and cosmetics, to keep the feeling like you have to keep grinding. You feel like you’re saving money which is a super predatory feeling to use to keep player engagement. And you’ve put all this time in, you wouldn’t want to get behind would you? So many mechanics to feed into your dopamine addled brain. It’s fr dangerous. Game is super stimulating, don’t start playing this shit.

The game was amazing, but TL’s customer support is literally the WORST! My account was hacked, and the hacker racked up hundreds of dollars in purchases on my account. I contacted Steam support, and after investigating, they confirmed that I was hacked and even issued a refund. But when I returned to TL, my account was permanently banned. I reached out to TL support, and they basically said there was nothing they could do and told me to submit an appeal. I explained the whole situation in my appeal, but the moderator DENIED it, saying I “needed to provide more evidence.” And get this—they only allow ONE appeal per violation! Where am I supposed to go to appeal again? There’s no phone number, no live chat, NOTHING. I’ve spent real money and hundreds of hours in this game, only to get banned for something I didn’t even do. If you’re going to ban me, at least give me back the money I spent on this game! This is beyond UNFAIR. If you going play this game, beware of hackers because TL support will NOT HELP YOU!!!

Why can't games just let you play how you want to play them anymore? This game is constantly forcing you to play what IT WANTS you to play. - Gotta log in daily so I can buy my daily amount of rye, eggs, honey, items from the contract coin shop. - Wanna do a world boss... too bad that's on a timer. Also the next one coming up is PvP and not safe so have fun getting ganked just trying to defeat a boss. - Wanna do a dungeon? Too bad, better make sure you have dimensional tokens to spin for loot or else it's a complete waste of time. How do I get those btw... a daily timer. - Also better do contracts because you haven't for the past couple days and they are stacking up. Don't want to cap out and have it be a waste of another daily timer. - BTW been doing all that? Better check you're open world dungeon contract tokens cuz those have been building up, better go run that and spend them before they cap out and are wasted. SOOOOOO MANY TIMERS TELLING ME WHAT TO DO AND WHEN! Why can't a game just let me log in and think "hmmm... what do I WANT TO DO?" And then go do that... and be rewarded for doing what the player wants to do.

it is actually obscene how pay to win this is if it's an item in the game, you can get it with real money. you can get the best gear with real money. you can enhance your abilities with money. attaining the highest mount speeds requires money. i am not exaggerating when i say you can buy literally any item with money, whether through packs in the premium store or the in-game auction house that uses premium currency. and before you go 'lol its free to play tho' it's only free to play until you get to endgame, where you realize that the best content involves non-avoidable open world pvp against massive guild alliances full of top-geared players. when the game forces you to pvp, and has pay to win, it doesn't matter that it's free. it's bad. you shoiuldn't play this, the time you've sunk will make you think it's okay to spend money on it. you shouldn't spend money on this, because pay to win games always die out after a short time and the only remaining players are the whales who you will not catch up to.

**WRITING AS A HEALER MAIN FROM ALL OTHER MAINSTREAM MMO'S** Playing as a healer in this game sucks, plain and simple. Your less of a "healer" and more of a "stopgap". You have 2 healing spells, and two shields. 1 is a single target, low impact "swift" heal, the other is an AOE with a little bit of more impact. 1 shield is a single target, the other is a single target "Oh fuck, dont die" shield that increases ur healing strength to them for a few seconds, thats it. thats all you get, good luck with the long CD's. now, granted I dont have much time in this game, but from the little ive done I can see the writing on the wall, it looks like group content will need a healer. The problem is, if your support players arent having fun/dont feel like their "class" is fleshed out, nobody will play support, and group content (if healing is needed) will die. In other MMO's, you heal and weave in some DMG, in this, u do DMG and weave in some healing. Flesh out the healing class. give us more options to heal and sustain our party and for the love of god, stop making single player "MMO's". pick one, either single player OR MMO, not both. Lean INTO the holy trinity, remove other class abilities for self sustain, give healers more tools, and allow healers to actually be NEEDED and WANTED and for them to actually have an IMPACT. Im tired of these games thinking of healers as an after thought, rather than its own unique system to incorporate as an integral part of the game. As a healer main, i cannot recommend.

Throne and Liberty is, sadly, the kind of game that follows all too common a blueprint with many other Korean MMORPGs. The game would seem to be an open world with fancy graphics and effects, but you are just being drawn in like cattle to slaughter. The mechanics are shallow, the taxes are high, and returns are diminishing, making progression unbearably slow. Crafting is terribly boring and tedious, one of the main value points for many players. You will be trying to farm for DAYS (you read that right) just to get the ingredients you need for a single crappy item. When you add to that the fact that pretty much all these crafting materials can be bought in a cash shop, it starts to seem almost designed this way purposely to encourage spending, instead of playing and enjoying crafting. The Bot problem is up front and center, and it's tough not to feel that this may be a feature than bug of the eco-system. With the farming process taking so long, players may begin to feel obligated to resort to bots to remain competitive, which in turn provides a much greater market for third-party sellers and just ruins the whole purpose of playing the game. And PvP is no better. The mechanics of this game are not satisfying and the disparity between players is off-putting. The fast levelers are free to crap on those much lower (who literally cannot hit back) of course because there's no real penalty to them so the rest of the players not able to play 20 hours a day without throwing money at the game have a rough time. At its most stripped down, Throne and Liberty is a very brazen cash grab that only pays lip service to the IDEA of being an MMORPG. Mechanically shallow, monetarily aggressive and extremely tough to recommend. In its current state, I can't see this game having any long-term appeal beyond the initial first week. Of course, there will be the (probably) paid positive reviews from little calf's, bleating how “Great” it is, looking for the next drink and too blind or young to see that this is just another violent reach into your pocket. But to those who “Love” this game, Moo Moo to you.

Why Ukrainians can’t play on global Eu servers? It’s a nonsense. Before Ukrainians were able to play on RU servers on every MMO, now they can’t play RU nor EU. Even though it’s make no sense Ua is a part of Europe, why are you blocking Ukraine from playing??? It’s not only TnL problem. Every mmo with RU and EU servers is unavailable for Ukraine ppl. Why after so many years UA is not added to play every single mmo at all. Even ppl in Russia can play most mmo without VPN because they have Ru servers.

I've hit max level, ran all available dungeons, PvPvE'd/3v3 PvP'd, finished the secret dungeons and completed all 10 chapters of the story. Don't really want to compare this game to something like Lost Ark or Black Desert Online, because those games are terribly overpowered with the most toxic game systems ever invented, but there are *some* similarities. The Auction House is blocked unless you spend real money to buy a currency used for AH purchases (Lucent) or if you get a good piece of gear/materials/traits you can list it on the market at no cost and get your Lucent that way. In my experience I've grinded items, ripped traits out and listed the extracts on the AH in the early access alone and got around 1200 Lucent (something like 30$ worth) so F2P is 100% viable. It's not like Lost Ark where you need to have an alt army, running the same raids, dungeons, dailies and weekly quest across 100 characters to funnel into one (execute people who come up with these ideas). Throne and Liberty promotes maining a single character as resources and equipment are not shared. This forces most players to rely on each other for progression, boosting dungeon/raid activity. There is of course the classic korean-style upgrade mechanics for gear but it's not a punishing system like BDO or Maplestory. You will always get progress towards your gear, it's just reliant on luck and time spent, mostly being the latter. The swiping for power aspect of this game is very prevalent as you can buy Lucent, then buy the BiS traits for your armor/weapons and be overpowered in PvP/PvE but the grind to GET there isn't as bad as what MMORPG players have been accustomed to with similar K-MMOs. Also should be noted that in the global version, at time of review at least, you can not sell dungeon/raid gear (in Korean version you can). This must be an Amazon Games change. ALL IN ALL 7.5/10 - Combat is fun, PvP is interesting, good sense of everyone being on a level playing field with grinded hours equating to a visible reward path. No item booming, no loss of upgrade levels, always progressing in some aspect even IF it can be slow. Good sense of exploration and class identity (if you follow the holy trinity > DPS > TANK > HEALER) for a tab target game. I would say play it on full release, if you like the leveling experience 1-50 chances are you will also enjoy post 50 content to keep you around.

- massive amount of abandoned servers killed by obnoxious losers - a very unwelcoming and openly toxic community, if you haven't been playing since the start like most of us then there is absolutely zero reason to even try now as you will be kicked from almost every random group and never be able to join a top guild - "rich get richer" sums up basically everything in this game, if you aren't part of the "rich" you only exist to be eaten and stepped on until eventually everyone gets tired of it and quits - in game market requires you to use lucent (paid currency) to use, this sounds awesome at first when you consider you can simply play the game to earn lucent but with continuous bad design choices and rampant botting, the market has been fucked to unrecoverable levels and it is nearly impossible to make any sort of meaningful profit as a weaker f2p player - time gated content because you need "tokens" to do anything, but soon you realize all of the content that you're spending these tokens for give worthless rewards anyways due to the market crash and only exists to keep you enslaved with its daily/weekly system. it all starts to get super tedious because you're getting so little reward for your time spent, but once your tokens start overcapping now you feel behind because you're playing inefficiently - game intensely caters to NEETs that play 24/7 to get anywhere on the rankings, seriously don't even try to get a meaningful place on the ladder if you're a normal functioning member of society. you will miss the majority of world events/bosses just from having a job, and trying to join any top guild will end up with them expecting way too much out of your time because they are a bunch of NEETs with an unrealistic grasp on reality - meaningful progress at end game is insanely tedious without spending if you are not in the top alliance of your server, good luck even trying to get an archboss weapon without swiping if you aren't in the top alliance monopolizing the server drops each week - no meaningful content for someone not in a massive guild and devs have clearly stated and shown that they want to push the idea of massive guilds and alliances as the focus for their content - terrible rock paper scissors combat system that only sounds good on paper - unironically uses evasion as a base defensive stat in pvp, yes you will miss 80% of your hits on someone geared against your damage type and it's about as fun as you can imagine - crowd control can last anywhere from 2 seconds to over 10 if it gets stacked on you - item that provides your global cleanse is NOT free and does not do much regarding diminishing returns - no matter how much money or time you put into your character, you will always lose to certain players, not because of skill but because that's how the game works. let's think about it for a second, this sounds like a """balanced""" system until you eventually find yourself wondering, why am i even trying so hard? if i'm going to lose anyways no matter how hard i try, does anything i do even matter? why should i spend $5000 if i'm going to lose anyways? ...and this is exactly what doomed the game in south korea to unrecoverable levels. when people mention "it died because whales didn't like the game" that's what it means because well, RIGHTFULLY who the fuck wants to spend $5000 just to fucking LOSE to some moron? it makes absolutely zero sense lmfao - pvp ends up being massive zergfests that the devs get a massive boner thinking about because sure, 100v100 on paper sounds cool but in practice it just ends up being a complete shitshow - it all only gets worse because this game hands down has the worst targeting system in the world, the result is large scale is completely unplayable and is why people rely on simply spamming long range aoes without even trying to think about who they're hitting - the devs are complete morons and made some of the absolute worst arena maps in the history of gaming that will make you hate small scale pvp too. boonstones and riftstones are just as bad and some of them legitimately make NO sense and provide zero ways to make a successful comeback if you lose the first fight because the terrain is so bad - some of the ugliest cosmetics ever, at this point it has to be intentional sabotage considering they could simply have had copied other games or followed popular tropes, it's uncanny how bad some of them are considering it's a korean game - almost every patch is disastrous and breaks something, as expected when they rely on indians to bug fix for them. there is absolutely NO quality assurance whatsoever, as proven from when they somehow released a game version where it had massive glaring red watermarks all over your screen that said "CONFIDENTIAL - DO NOT SHARE" along with your username. you're telling me not a single person noticed those watermarks before the servers reopened? - f2p + pvp = latinos everywhere tl;dr terrible game with a bunch of freaks playing it and an even freakier dev team. it's hard to tell if it's arrogance or just plain incompetence that creates so many bad design choices that countless other games in the past decade have already lived through and learned from. there is simply no excuse for a game to be so bad with how much gaming has come along as a whole. never trust NCSOFT or amazon to respect your time and intelligence.

most of these negative reviews are based on bugs and performance issues. This one is not. i hate the drip feeder system. You want to run a dungeon, try to get some loot? to bad you cant, you can only get a chance at loot 3 times a day. maybe do some contracts or a open world dungeon, limited amount per day. Everything in the game is on this time-gated type system.

So, after over 180 hours of play time and experiencing everything this game has to offer up to my servers milestones point, I think its time to give my 2 cents on this game. Usually, I don't care to review games, not worth my time, but I can't stand people who defend this game as if its the next best thing to pizza. Is the game fun? Fun, is subjective, but to me the whole process of reaching the endgame, completing all codex entries before moving onto the next zone, was fun for what it was. Reaching endgame, the "fun" disappeared and you get what other MMO's have, DAILIES. Now you don't really have dailies, but you have a daily loop of things you do in order to not fall behind in content, and its a soulless experience. There is literally nothing to do outside of these dailies, almost similar to what Lost Ark was like, except the combat in Lost Ark made it somewhat bearable. The daily loop is basically: 3 dungeons, 10 contract quests, using up open world dungeon tokens, and attending world boss events(some of which are pvp contested). As for the stuff like guild missions and world events? Almost pointless to do since you'll still get guild currency for not even doing any missions and world events literally have no value outside of doing them for guild missions. PvP is hot garbage in this game. Gear+Build > Skills, doesn't matter how good you are at your class, if you aren't playing meta builds with the best and maxed out gear, you aren't beating others who are meta and have better gear. You also will die if stunned in this game by another player, and let me tell you, there is no cooldown in between you getting stunned so you can die without being able to do anything. Throne and Liberty is also known by another name "Tanks and Liberty", and you will see a bunch of pvp players with 15k+ hit points that never die while being in decent gear, now imagine if they get the best gear. P2W, lets not sugarcoat it as P2Progress. I'll be honest and say I spent some money to buy upgrades, so I can give you an idea of what money can get you. You can use your daily contracts for things like parchment or crafting stones instead of weapon/armor growth stones, since you can buy those materials with real money, thereby allowing you to gear faster. You can buy purple gear, some of which are best in slot, instead of farming for them via rng, or pity crafting. You can buy "traits" and max them out, which is why you see players who aren't tanks, that have over 12k hit points while the average player has 6 to 8k with the "max hp" trait. You can also pay guilds to give you loot drops from world bosses, because guilds change how loot works, and your boss loot goes into guild storage where the leader can give it to other players as well. To all the P2W deniers, this is a PvP game with PvE content, and unless you as someone who doesn't spend money can beat a 3100 CP player with video proof - you're in denial. The community. Its honestly already starting to look toxic, much sooner than Lost Ark showed its toxicity. You already have gatekeeping groups for PvE content, and good luck trying to get into any good guild unless you have extremely high CP and with the correct viable builds(So none of you players with Greatsword/Wand, SwordShield/Staff, etc). You can join a casual guild, but this is a PvP game, not made for casuals. I don't recommend this game to anyone who values their time or money. Its not worth investing either of those into this game unless you enjoy PvP and are willing to spend money.

Oct 3, 2024 The P2W aspect may be slightly less forced in PVE than other MMOs SK has put out in the last decade, but I assure you the P2W is there. The shills can just cope until the game dies. My point stands that this game is one of the most soulless experiences I've had in years. Give me my 100% and let me GTFO. PS: Didn't spend a dime.

Quickfire Review

Lost Ark PTSD Simulator Bland story, lack of memorable characters, lackluster quests, janky combat, Ubisoft-level interface with flashy lights + SFX to make you "think" you're making awesome progress until they hit you with the P2W monetization. Out of 100 players, I guarantee 100 players are not reading any of the dialogue. Mash F to skip, just as we broke the G key last year.

Conclusion

Final Verdict: D+ Another yawn MMO of post-2020. Disappointed in my own country for being so money-hungry all the time and getting in bed with Amazon (AGAIN). /shrug

Edit: I don't care how far a company leans away from P2W. This is one of the least egregious P2W titles that has ever come out of Korea exclusively because its designed in a way where the Whales in the game are funneling currency into other players instead of a void. It's a smart system if you're launching in Korea and want to limit P2W mechanics. They weren't launching for Korea though. Every faint trace of P2W has to come out before I change my review because the principles and design philosophies around these systems are corrupted. You can still see remnants of a system where you could fail to craft fundamental things like Growthstones. The game is incredible. It's gorgeous, it's optomized all the way to the tits and it is, genuinely, a revolution of MMO gameplay. But I will NEVER recommend a game built on p2w philosophies until said philosophies are completely and utterly extracted from it. TLDR: If not for their monetization scheme, this would have been a golden-era level showing of game design. If WoW were designed this way, you'd basically have 75% of the things you collect (Gear, Crafting Mats, Consumables, Everything) added to a page with a button that said "Collect your winnings now! Only $9.99!" This game has me torn like to other game ever has, if not for its monetization Throne and Liberty would have been the new GOLD STANDARD for MMOs, The back end of their servers is incredible, you can move seamlessly between fast travel points without a loading screen. The game is optimized to the teeth and is gorgeous to behold and MOST of the game are masterfully designed, engaging and limit pushing for a genre I feared to have entered permanent creative stagnation. But whoops all your characters have to buy a $10 battle pass and a $10 "Leveling Track" pass to ever hope to compete(Even if you bought the 5 day headstart, which was a giant trap and buying the Battle Pass is more. The Battle pass on its own throws its purchasers over a MONTH of a F2P players daily limit for resource farming, just for doing everything you'd be doing anyway. The f2p Track for the battle pass on the other hand is worth claiming 1 times of every 20. If they gutted the P2W out of the game (No contract limits, No Progress from Battle Pass and things gated via a daily cap of Lucent earned IN game THROUGH PLAYING THE GAME I would sing praises about this game until the sun burned out to everyone who would listen. But as it stands now I will tell everyone to avoid it like the Plague for the same reasons I've illustrated here. Removing ANY of their monetization mechanics would DIRECTLY improve the game in every single instance. Their monetization scheme is going to strangle this game, exactly like every other NCSoft game. Throne and Liberty WOULD HAVE been a once in a lifetime revolutionary rebirth of MMO's but was ruined by ensuring you can't function without buying what will inevitably be a monthly "ticket to ride", but also swiping their credit card to interact with the Auction house is MANY other ways. The ONLY reason these mechanics exists are to drive people to giving them money. Not to make the game fun or improve the experience. These features ONLY exist to insidiously and underhandedly drive people to Pay, pay, pay. Many content creators are blinded by the fact they've been so desperate for a quality MMO (Which, again, this game would have been if not for the monetization. and will gloss over how pay to win it is (Even people who are favorable of the game are mostly like "Yes P2W, but is it really?" and the answer to that phrase is almost universally "Yes." I'd pay a subscription that gave me nothing, just to keep the game running, before I will ever engage with their micro-transaction shop. The Battle-Pass amounts to a sub fee, but predatory. Instead of saying "Pay or you can't engage" it becomes "Pay or you can't engage in a MEANINGFUL way". That fact gets perpetually misunderstood by people because of all the flashing buttons, limited time offers and FOMO. NCSoft, as expected, even after their "Trust us, we've changed!" act have in fact, not changed in any meaningful way at all.

Some people have just no brains and live with pink classes where everything always has to be perfect at launch. that said... 10 minutes after servers opening. Logged on, created a character. THRONE AND LIBERTY is a next-generation MMORPG that promises a vast open world, large-scale PvP battles, and dynamic weather systems that affect gameplay. Developed by NCSoft, it aims to be a true evolution of the MMO genre, blending PvE and PvP seamlessly. But does it live up to the hype? The Good: ✅ Stunning Open World: Powered by modern graphics, the world feels alive and immersive. ✅ Dynamic Weather & Day/Night Cycle: Environmental changes directly impact combat and exploration. ✅ Seamless PvE & PvP Integration: Players can choose their playstyle—cooperate or compete. ✅ Classless Character System: Instead of fixed roles, players can switch between weapons and abilities. ✅ Massive Battles: Castle sieges and large-scale wars add epic moments to gameplay. The Bad: ❌ Monetization Concerns: Free-to-play MMOs often struggle with pay-to-win mechanics. ❌ Grindy Progression: Leveling, gear farming, and crafting may become repetitive over time. ❌ Balance Issues: Large-scale PvP could favor whales (players who spend a lot of money). ❌ Uncertain Long-Term Support: Live service MMOs need consistent updates and player retention. Final If NCSoft delivers on its promises, THRONE AND LIBERTY could be a revolutionary MMORPG with breathtaking battles, immersive environments, and deep customization. However, its success will depend on fair monetization, meaningful content updates, and a balanced PvP/PvE system. ⭐⭐⭐ 8/10 – A visually stunning MMO with massive potential but looming concerns.⭐⭐⭐

On the surface, it's one of the best MMOs I've played, and I've nearly played them all (since 2002). End game concept for both PvE and PvP is really really really bad. All you do is grind the same 5 dungeons forever, and do the same daily quests, that's it. On the server I joined there was a population of over 32k - 34k during peak if I remember correctly. Lunar I think was the server name. On that server a group of guilds that all supported the main guild (Solar) essentially controlled everything. The rest of the server started to fight back, but honestly the gap is immense when you are playing against people that literally play 24/7 and started playing on Korean server 2 years prior to NA release. The headstart and organization prior to release gave them firm control over everything early, and they made sure nobody could get the rewards that they didn't even need. They were toxic about it as well. The community was complete dogsheet. Worst community of any MMO I've played. I hated every minute that I played, mostly because of Sauceykitten. iykyk

Throne and Lots of Microtransactions

What I Liked One of the best looking MMO's out there. Combat isn't bad, with some decent ideas on weapon combinations, but that's been done before. What I Did Not Like The game wasn't designed to pull folks in to play a fun game, and then spend money on that fun game, it's designed for people to spend money on the game to have fun. Want to have a killer look? That costs money. Want to change a name, appearance, or something else? Costs money. Want to place 1st in a world event? Pay for the best gear. Want the best guild? Everyone better pay money for it. Want the cool looking ground travel look? Gotta pay. As gamers, this is our fault. It's my fault. I bought early access. Sure, I got a few things out of it, but not enough to justify the cost. But I was so starved for a new MMO, I was weak. They knew that. They prey on that. Everything in the game is designed to take your money, either through subtle means or just flat out directly. It's not a game meant to have fun, it's meant to force you to pay to have fun. To place first. To have the cool new look. It's not the first game to do it and it won't be the last. I hope it will be the last for me. As gamers, we need to do better. Why I Stopped Playing Still am, probably through the day this review is posted, but I doubt much longer. Disclaimer I have been a gamer for over 30 years. I tend to play mostly PC games. I also bounce around between games A LOT. I may purchase a $60 game and play it for 2 hours or spend $10 on a game and spend 50 hours on it. Even if I played a game a short time, it does not mean it is bad. It just means another game caught my attention. I also complain about flaws in games a lot, even about the littlest of things. Keep that in mind when reading my reviews. If I do not have a complaint, then the game must be special!
