Wrong History. Even though I sent you historical documents many times, you released the DLC like this.
"Furthermore, for the accurate conveyance of the game's historical context, it is necessary to emphasize that both the Delhi Sultanate (especially the founder/Mamluk, Khalji, and Tughlaq Dynasties) and the Golden Horde State were Turkic-origin states.
Delhi Sultanate/Tughlaq Dynasty (Turkic Sultanate): Its foundations were laid by the Turkic commander Qutb al-Din Aibak, and its main dynasties, such as the Iltutmish, Balban, and Tughlaqs, were all of Muslim Turkic descent.
The Golden Horde State: Although its founders descended from Genghis Khan, the state was established in the lands inhabited by Turkic tribes (Cumans, various Islamized Turkic tribes), and its administrative structure and traditions maintained the Turkic Qaghanate tradition. The vast majority of its population also consisted of Turkic tribes.
The accurate and clear reflection of the Turkic-Islamic identity of these two states in in-game labeling, iconography, or diplomatic relations is essential for historical accuracy."
We also condemn your racist attitude towards Turks.

Lazy, really lazy DLC. Every unit should be unique, why are a lot of the units just reskins? The macadonian reskin of byz is literally just byz???? The golden horde is cool, japan doesnt have enough units, the new deli doesnt have enough units. Im failing to see £16 here? Very, very lazy and disappointed. Wait for a sale for this DLC.
Also, fix your matchmaking and disable family sharing, Sick of people (smurfing) cheating.

Civ's seem nice but thats it.
Completely unbalanced in some cases and not tested at all it seems.
Some of the new units not gaining stats from upgrades and ashigaru musketeer from new japanese civ are missing voices.
At this stage not worth the twenty bucks, especially if it isnt even fully voiced.

I don’t really know how to rate this DLC. If Steam had a “neutral” option, that’s exactly what I’d choose — but unfortunately, it doesn’t.
If you just want to play some mindless, cheesy number-stacking gameplay, then go ahead and pick the Golden Horde.
Alright, back to the point. I honestly don’t understand why they’re obsessed with constantly making variant factions. You’ve probably heard the studio say things like, “We’re experimenting and innovating to bring players a better experience.” But as players — and as human beings — we’re not magical creatures, and we can’t read minds. So we have no idea what they’re really thinking. As for whether Age of Empires IV truly has the feeling of an “empire war,” I can see that they’ve been tirelessly tweaking the AI. Yet ironically, the AI in AoE4 is actually worse than the AI in Red Alert 3 from 2008. It’d take too long to fully explain the differences, so I’ll just say this: AoE4’s AI doesn’t interact with terrain.
No matter how much you hype it up, the AI in AoE4 still fails — or almost always fails — to do basic things like: ambushing in bushes, holding choke points or bridges, using high ground advantages, or setting traps for players. Everything it does follows rigid, primitive scripts with zero learning capability. I’m sure everyone here has experienced that. And will they ever fix it? Who cares — how many years has it been?
Now it’s 2025, and AoE4 still doesn’t have any atmosphere that makes it feel like a true “Empire War.” The 200-population cap including villagers and soldiers, the uneven unit population costs — all of it gives off a stingy, small-minded vibe, more like a “village brawl” than a grand war. It feels like you’re leading fewer than 200 peasants to fight another village. No wonder it’s Farmer Age IV. And what caused all this? One possible reason I can think of is that Relic has been stuck for years making squad-based games with shared health bars — they’ve never done large-scale single-unit RTS. Even their Company of Heroes 3 only allows 100 total population. Ridiculous.
As for the variant factions, I no longer care whether they make any proper, full-fledged civilizations. Screw it. When a studio keeps churning out lazy, copy-paste variant factions, one has to ask — do they even have any creativity left? What’s the average age of their employees? Do they still have drive and flexible thinking? If they’re this obsessed with variants, can they even make a good regular civilization anymore? Why not make one? How long do we have to wait? Can AoE4 even carry on the legacy of the Age of Empires franchise? I think about these questions sometimes, but there are no answers — because even now, AoE4 still has pathetically few game modes, player choices, and AI types. Year after year it’s either some dumb seasonal “esports balance” patch or complete radio silence, followed by one token update at the end of the year.
Honestly, I’d suggest you just finish AoE4 already. Stop forcing it. What’s the point anymore? There’s always someone saying, “Be more understanding toward the devs.” I swear, I want to grab that person by the hair and collar, shove their head into the keyboard and make them look at the screen — look at what it means to consider players’ interests. When we buy the game, create mods, and play online, we’re already giving the game enough support. What more do you expect? We’re not saints. Every single “forgive-the-devs” fool can get lost — you brainless idiots. If the devs can’t do their job well, that’s their responsibility, not the players’. As long as the game is officially still in development, the studio must take responsibility. If they don’t want to, then just shut it down and stop disgusting the players.
To wrap it up: AoE4 has too many problems. Even after years of “fixes and improvements,” there’s been no real progress. That alone proves how bad the game’s foundation and development direction must be. If next year Dawn of War 4 truly delivers on what KingArts said — more units, more focus on single-player fun, and rich content designed not for esports — then both Relic’s Company of Heroes 3 and Age of Empires IV will look downright embarrassing.
If you want to have an actual, serious, in-depth discussion about AoE4, then go to the official forum:
https://forums.ageofempires.com/c/age-of-empires-iv/184
Don’t bother talking in the Steam community — it’s already dead. The people left there fall into four categories:
1. Casuals who just play a bit and don’t participate in discussions.
2. Clowns who barely play but love to meddle in every topic.
3. Brain-dead AoE4 fanboys who reject all criticism and worship the game unconditionally, believing the players are the problem, not the game.
4. Esports zealots who think single-player, modders, and PvE players are trash, and that esports is the only path AoE4 should follow.
The entire AoE4 Steam community is lifeless — a chaotic, dull, discount retirement home.

A roguelike mode and 4 new civ variants. The crucible is a really cool mode that allows adapting your playstyle by unlocking perks, and hopefully we get coop as well in the future. For me, the lack of coop this is the only con for now. The civs seem to be quite complex, but bring a lot of new concepts to the game. Overall a good DLC for the price.

**Don’t Overlook the Turkish Community**
I’ve been enjoying this game for a long time — thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Still, despite having two major Turkish creators, Yellowish and Iby_Aoe, who have significantly helped grow the Age of Empires community in Turkey, they are not given early access to new updates or DLCs.
It’s disappointing to see that our community’s genuine support and contribution are overlooked, while others are prioritized. I truly hope this is not related to our location or nationality.
Please address this issue and support these creators in future releases — it would mean a lot to the Turkish Age of Empires community.
