I refunded due to the double flame puzzle in first level being impossibly difficult to complete. It is very easy to understand what is being asked of you and what is needed to be done. But the design of the level makes it nearly impossible to translate the flames to their letters based on the speed of the transitions and not having a sequence break to have a start/end. If this is the choice devs made for first level I couldnt imagine how much worse it would get.

the multiplayer is literally unplayable at this point , super frustrating cant get past "loading world state" bought for the multiplayer so not thrilled

Pros: • Finally solved the puzzle—victory feels good! • Surprisingly fun to play with your girlfriend. • Super relaxing, with bursts of excitement that keep you hooked and eager to finish. Cons: • Occasionally left wondering, “What am I even looking at?” • Got accused of having tism because I solve picture puzzles faster than I can read. • Honestly… not many real downsides. Overall: A great experience! The game nails the satisfying puzzle-solving loop—smooth, relaxing, and rewarding. There are a few rough edges, but nothing game-breaking. I just wish there was more content. After about 18 hours, I’ve completed nearly all the achievements and explored every area available. If you’re looking for something to play with your significant other, this is a high contender! 10/10

The first one was great but this game is next level. Great graphics, challenging puzzles. good hint system for people like me {old and dumb}. Heartily recommended for all escape game lovers.

I played and truly loved the first one but am disappointed at the state of this game. I don't find the new art style all that appealing and find it annoying and a bit confusing that some interactions (for example the well in the first level and the bath in the third) rapidly move me in a straight line to somewhere else for the animation and then move me back. I also don't understand the addition of the lobby, but I guess it's a feature mainly aimed for multiplayer where I have only played solo. Until now I also find the puzzles to be pretty easy. I have played 3 rooms and completed all 3 within the time limit. I found that a lot more difficult to do with rooms of the first game. In my experience, the puzzles are also pretty linear now. I remember being overwhelmed by rooms in the first edition by the amount of shit to do and I did not have that experience at all, particularly with the second and third room. Finally, the game so for has crashed every time I have tried to leave a room and go back to the lobby.

I loved the first game, and I had high hopes for the second. I got to the lost starship, and I have to splice together some audio to make the password "override 4 alpha bravo". For the life of me, I can't do it. I spent an hour trying to do that. I gave up, frustrated. I'll uninstall this game and it will sit in library to be forgotten.

Superb game with a good difficulty challenge that doesn't require any desire for hints. Each of the 12 rooms took me about 1.5 hours. I still have the majority of the Darkest Puzzles and the hidden pieces should I decide to continue. I'm very happy the developers chose puzzle symbols and shapes, rather than colors. When colors were used they were distinct enough to not confuse me and my color blindness.

As much as I love these games and this community, I am pretty offended and underwhelmed at the amount of content we get after all this wait. I wouldn't recommend buying this game until months after its release.

reminds me of uncles basement

The game is quite cool, a lot of stuff has improved since the previous one, BUT: I cannot recommend it in its current state, since the multiplayer (I haven't tested singleplayer but maybe as well) is INCREDIBLY buggy. Some times objects get soft locked, sometimes they are desynced (you see one version and friends see another), sometimes they get stuck. Having bought it on release, I have since had a lot of problems solving some puzzles, just to find out that they got broken and my solutions were right but the game refused to acknowledge them until I reloaded the save and tried the exact same thing again,

I usually get bored so quickly from these type of games and for some stupid reason I just decided to buy this when I saw it in the store. This is hands down the most fun/attention grabbing puzzle game i've ever played. I'm so happy I made this purchase, I'm done with the first 4 levels and im already sad that I wont be able to experience them for the first time again. The puzzles arent nonsensical reaches between clues, which alot of these puzzle type games tend to do. Theyre actually well made puzzles that just require some thinking to figure out. And the puzzles are genuinely so fun to solve. Whenever something clicks and I understand the puzzle its some of the best moments in this game. Thank you steam for showing me this game and thank you impulsive me for buying it.

It keeps crashing

Ehh, this should be labelled as early access for the amount of current content compared to Escape Sim 1. There's only 3 *stories* right now, with 4 rooms each. Mechanically it is the same as the first game,but I enjoyed these puzzles a little more. They seemed easier, and I only googled that captain cabin spaceship part. Get it when more content comes out.

This game is so much more polished than the first escape sim. Visually it looks so good, but the puzzles have improved as well. The mechanics are smoother, and feel easier to work out what you're meant to do. I also really like there's just a button to accommodate players with motion sickness. I played through Dracula's Castle with my partner, and the rooms had specific puzzles for co-op that we both thought were really cool. I don't know if we'll be going back to Escape Sim 1 any time soon, so I hope for many more maps and many workshop creators.

Loved the first game. This one completely lives up to expectations and then some. Graphics feel a bit leveled up. Puzzles from the first set (Dracula themed) were all great. Had some novel ideas which are hard in this type of game I think. There are some nice finishing touches regarding meta progression that I've seen so far including bonus hard versions of specific puzzles after finishing a themed set and a use for the hidden puzzle tokens in the lobby.
