I did give this game a vote for the "relaxing" category, and it is a pretty cool game, but... Do NOT enable traffic. You'll want to enable traffic, it makes it more immersive, it gives the game life, but DO NOT enable traffic. Enabling traffic takes an otherwise relaxing game and turns it into a conniption inducing rage-fest. I literally want to club baby seals and punch babies when traffic is enabled. A Buddhist monk playing with traffic enabled would slip into a fit of extreme violence. There have been no less than a dozen peer reviewed studies that concluded 96% of violent crime in the world today is a direct result of having enabled traffic in Farming Simulator. Allegedly. And probably the single largest cause of global warming due to all the blood that boils when traffic is enabled. It is my personal belief that Giant's putting traffic in this game is their passive aggressive way of giving the entire gaming community the middle finger. Change my mind.

the game where you spend hours meticulously planting virtual crops while your real-life lawn looks like a jungle. This is peak farming realism: wake up, drive a tractor, haul some grain, accidentally tip a trailer into the river, and repeat. Pros: ✅ Stunning graphics—my cornfields look better than my actual backyard. ✅ You can mod the game until it barely resembles farming. ✅ More tractors than you’ll ever need (but you will collect them all). ✅ Multiplayer chaos—watch your friends flip a harvester into space. Cons: ❌ Realistic farming means real-time waiting… enjoy watching wheat grow. ❌ One wrong button, and suddenly your entire year's harvest is ruined. ❌ AI workers? More like AI wanderers. They get lost more than I do in IKEA. Final Verdict: If you’ve ever dreamed of farming but don’t want to deal with real-life cows, taxes, or waking up at 4 AM, this game is perfect. Just don’t blame me when you start referring to your garage as "the barn" and looking up real tractor prices. 🚜💨

Giants has once again prioritised updating their engine with visual features that were modern 10 years ago rather than focusing on game play mechanics and high fidelity simulation. If you want a slightly prettier version of a game you likely already own, then FS25 is the game for you. What have we actually gotten in terms of novel / meaningful / engaging game play over the past 10 years? Precision farming has been discontinued from the previous version. GPS and Seasons are just carbon copies of mods that the community made first. Livestock game play is still just a visual facsimile and limited to a UI menu, so it involves no real interactivity or "simulation". Where are crop moisture effects? Where are the simulator staples of high fidelity interactive cabs with working instruments and screens? Where is VR? Where is sheering, stall-mucking, herding / pasture rotation, animal birth events, and veterinary care? Where is the tractor and tool mechanic game play? Where are the career progression mechanics beyond owning bigger and better tractors and buildings like a reputation system or a career specialisation system with improving relevant contracts? A few new crops that re-skin the same game play mechanics isn't good enough. This company has done extremely well on the last few titles, and it feels like we see very little of that revenue materialise as innovative improvements to the "simulation". Time for this community to start asking for GAME DEVELOPMENT in equal or greater measure to the SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT. Edit: So this got way more traction than I thought it would. I honestly thought the response would be primarily clown emotes and people shouting me down in the comments. I would just like to say that this review isn't a criticism of the individual developers who worked hard on the projects they were assigned over the last 3 years; rather, I hope it reads as a critique the wider strategic decisions made by the management of Giants and the misdirected focus on modernising the engine over expanding the game play. If fighting with the engine to make it modern is so time intensive that it is taking away from the game, I wonder if it is worth it in the long run. I hope - in the event that Giants does see this - that this feedback can be helpful in charting a path forward toward the types of features that simulation players would like to see for FS28 and beyond. Great review by SIM UK if you want an in-depth, hands on review that kind of aligns with my feelings on things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4a8mkx2d-Q

I'll get right to it The good: -Sounds seem much better then past farm sims -The terrain deformation is a nice touch but this is something that should have been in Farm Sim a long time ago -New crop types are always welcome -GPS steering integrated in the base game is very nice The bad: -AI workers are still pretty terrible, I can appreciate what they tried to do to improve the workers but it wasn't executed very well -I get constant screen flickering with every graphic setting I tried -Most machine interiors still look like they came from Farm Sim 2015 -Most screens in the machines have static images -Maps are very meh -Menus are still a pain to navigate -GPS steering lines clip through the machine cab in interior view and looks goofy I'm sure things will improve with mods but the base game feels like a step backwards.

love this game and like the features of the new game engine. A game that is actually playable on release day in 2024 crazy!!! Edit I have heard that some people experience problems and bugs when they try to play FS 25. However, I haven't encountered any issues at all. The game runs smoothly on my PC, which is a 6-year-old system with an 8th-gen i7 and a GTX 1070.

I wanted to like this, BUT it is really FS22 with mods, it is lazy work full of bugs, Game still using the same cheap engine, Honestly has that made for mobile look. wait for sale to buy or just download mods for FS22, 99.9% of streamers will kiss Giants ass and say it is great it is NOT.

I'm sure this is a great game but the complete lack of any guidance in such a complex game is incredibly frustrating. I've never played a FS game before and I'm no farmer in real life but I love farming games and wanted to play this one. It is "fun" but I have really no clue what I'm doing. The 5 minute tutorial this game has didn't help at all and there's so much to do and learn I'm constantly googling and watching videos to figure out what I need to do and even then sometimes I still struggle. It's been exhausting just trying to learn how to play and it's really disappointing. I see no reason why there's no tutorial in such a game and it really reflects poorly on the devs.

Been playing since 2009. All the graphics and ground deformation stuff is cool but there's even less content compared to FS22 and it's disappointing... Half stuff is put from FS22 season passes and that makes even less equipment then in previous game.. I'm guessing they put less content just to sell more packs and season passes in the future. Everything else is fine

Not a good game at all. Its poorly optimised, still plagued by bugs but hey we have dlc's... Graphics wise its ugly, running on ultra. Nothing about this game is satisfactory for me, the driving its a joke, physics... what are those ? the farming aspect also brings no joy because of the clunky operating vehicles, building aspect of the game is unsatisfactory its also clunky and lacks depth. The AI is horrible for traffic and hired help. The base game maps are terrible, who designed them who tested them ? The roads don't even make sense, i see ai having trouble taking bends. If you have busses in traffic why not design the roads to make sense so ai can maneuver on it. This game screams for a new engine ! The only positive thing i can say about it, are the mods implementation. They are very easy to install and having the modhub right there in the game makes it easy to find them.

The graphics are stunning, and the new weather aspects bring realism to the game-play. You receive some good initial vehicles, and the settings include lots of fields and room to let your imagination run wild. I cannot wait for future upgrades; keep up the fantastic job. So, would I suggest this game? Yes . It's a fantastic game with many new features.

I've never wrote a review in my life.. but, this game does not deserve the "mixed" review. I've played every FS since FS 17 and this is the biggest upgrade from game to game I've seen, the amount of things you can do in this game is insane, they even added more world construction opportunity. They have re hauled terrain physics so you actually sink into plowed or tilled fields, you get a feel of the load on your vehicle better then any other game not to mention the attention to detail with the tracks, if its raining and your whipping though your field be prepared to have mud tracks everywhere. I could go on and on with the things you can do, the processing facility's and things you can build alone are insane never mind the amount of vehicles but long story's short this game in my honest opinion doesn't deserve the overall "mixed" review on steam the graphics are and physics are better then any other FS's and my game runs better than it did on previous FS's so I don't know why people are talking about poor optimisation, it has been optimised. 9/10

Certainly wanted to wait a while before I review as I only have 1 hour so far, but some of the bad reviews are irking me. I run an 11th gen i7-11700F and an RTX 3060 with 64 GB Ram. I get about 65-70 FPS, no stutters, jitters, screen tearing, etc. (All MAXED out graphics and 1440p) Those of you on higher end machines/high end in general, that can't run this, this isn't a copium huffing championship. Check all drivers, updates, etc. Otherwise, just wait for GIANTS to fix the game. It JUST released lmfao. ANYWAYS! THIS GAME IS AMAZING SO FAR! Such a good direction in graphics and graphics settings, visuals, etc. THE AI HELPERS, AND GPS IS AMAZING AND WORKS VERY WELL! The ground deformation is awesome, the engine sounds are so much better, the machines and equipment are so much better looking, the volumetric fog, sun rays, and other new graphical elements are amazing and this all makes the game feel much more in depth and realistic. I like the new variety of machines and equipment, as well as the maps. I am currently playing on Riverbend and so far it's a blast! (another new edit: I now have already almost 14 hours into the game and can confirm it's still amazing so far lol. still thank you for the jester points) :)

I find myself at a crossroads. I like this game because farming is my life but it is seriously missing 90% of actual farming simulation that should be in the game. For instance there should be nuance to fertilization of individual crops using a real NPK and soil composition mechanic. There are no pest no consequences of unethical or ethical practices. Currently in game player doesn't have to manage soil hydration and animal husbandry is so bland. Farms use animals to fit niches and this game dose not implement that at all. Now moving on to the bigger picture building an empire. Well it fall short there too because there is no real empire to build. It is just you on the map with random helpers that pop in at your behest and of course grandpa. There should be some permenant workers, hiring we should be able to build onsite worker barracsk have and real full time helpers around the farm. Include some worker conditions mechanic or something that helps to govern worker productivity etc. Millions of templates out there Economy is static, Production has little mechanics just a lot of recipes. This game should be about productivity but the Devs put training wheels on in certain places that make the game not a SIM. You can store crops indefinitely if you buy animal you don't have to feed them or give them water. They wont die. Greenhouses, animal pens, factories, are all plug and play. Player cant even pick up a carton of eggs without a buying a forklift or outfiting your frontend loader. They all have the same interface that just takes you to a menu again which has very few options. This game really just showcases heavy industrial farm equipment and its use not Farming in general. So everything is geared around getting more equipment not being a good farmer. I like the game because its a game but it is missing ALOT if it wants to be referred to as a Farm Sim.

I dont get the hate some people have for the farming sim 25. Been playing the farming sim series since the 2009 Gold Edition and the improvements they made compared to the previous versions are significant. The visuals, the crops, the build menu, everything. Some people say they need to reinvent themselves, i for my part am already very happy using the base of something good and improving every time again to make it even a bit better. Would 100% purchase

Plowing speed doesn't alter the plowing result. The control scheme is all shit; no shifter, pedal or wheel support - they are emulated as game pad. This game is for those "farmers" who can't live Farming Sim pro gamer life and simulate their experience. Probably ok for couch lock, not for rig players. Will ask for refund

After 50 hours of gameplay in the first 5 days I can say, this game is amazing and will suck you in for many hundred, if not thousands of hours. Out of the gate, it is a huge improvement over the previous version (FS22) with much improved graphics, performance, and new features. My only real complaint is that it takes a lot of tinkering with the settings to get the best graphics and performance as the default settings are not well optimized for any computer. But as someone with many thousands of hours spent on FS22, I have no desire to ever go back to FS22, which pretty much sums up my reaction to FS25 and says a lot about how good it is, and that is without any mods yet!!

These bad reviews are the hardest for me. Especially when it's such a niche genre that not many devs will even attempt. Looking back through my library, I own FS15, FS19, FS22, and now FS25 (for the time being). FS19 was the last one that ran acceptably. Issues:
  • Still terrible hitching and stuttering just like FS22 - I was able to play hundreds upon hundreds of hours of FS19 and that was never an issue
  • Still have to be at the main menu to make any graphics changes whatsoever
  • Still have to restart after the most mundane choices like toggling HDR (which also has no reference image to see what you're changing lol
  • Still no option for 175hz; why not have a slider? Instead it is stepped and goes from 144hz to 240hz
  • Still has flickering controls in the top left if you have multiple inputs like a wheel, sticks, pedals, etc
Those are the things I've noticed in 10 minutes. But the main thing here is, just like FS22, the choppy and horrific frame-time. Just a constant zig-zag like you're watching a heart rate of a fat man running to the fridge and back. GPU usage not being at 100% and instead bouncing between from 90-100 when you're not even hitting the chosen FPS and are not limited in any other way (CPU usage in the teens). And the overall hitching as you try to drive, walk, or move your characters head. It is worth noting that playing exclusive-full screen seemed to help a little bit, but didn't fix it. Lastly, and also just like FS22, there's no controls import that I'm seeing. Not that it'd benefit me since I never got to really play FS22 enough to set up all of my binds, but I do know it sucked not having my FS19 controls be able to work in FS22. I had to change stuff in notepad++ to be able to do that, and once I did it somehow disabled some of the new controls in FS22 (like placing things in builder mode) and didn't have an option to change their binds. I'll close with my PC specs, but figured I'll mention it's not strictly related to me having AMD now. I had the same exact hitching and terriible frametimes in FS22 with an Intel i9-10900k & RTX 3080Ti.

Farming Simulator 25 is not bad. Farming Simulator 25 is not good. It's hard to know what it really is because it's broken and buggy in so many ways. They spent the majority of the last few years rebuilding the game engine, which if you like graphical upgrades you have a lot to be excited for. I think. It's hard to tell due to all the graphical glitches and performance issues. Ground deformation is on of the big new additions, and it's cool. The issue is that it is purely cosmetic, and really has no affect on gameplay. After a few hours I stopped even noticing it. Rice is also a new addition, and it adds a new type of gameplay where you need to flood a field in order to plant the crops. And you have to keep the field flooded during the growth for healthy crops. It has very specialized equipment for one type, and one type that uses the same old equipment as before. Lot of new crops were added to greenhouses, but they only need water like all greenhouse crops. You can grow your own rice seedlings if you want, which may save you some money, or make you some if you sell the pallets you don't need. Animals have growth stages, from babies to teens to adults. It's a nice touch, visually, to see different stage animals in the field. To make animals even more attractive, you can now build barns and pastures where you get to draw out the fence line and fill it with meadow grass for the animals to graze on. This is absolutely useless for every animal except sheep and goats, as any other animal will eat it and never improve. You may as well not feed them at all to let them have just meadow grass. The new animals, by the way, are decent additions. Water Buffalo and Goats have their own products, but the care is exactly the same as existing animals. It's nice to have more variety however. You can make additional products, so there are reasons to raise them. The disappointment with animals is still the same as it has been, only cattle have any special process for feeding, in making TMR. While it's easy, it would be nice to have animals that require more work than just dropping some crops in the food trough and move along. Now, the most polarizing part of the new game is the UI. It's not hard to get used to, and some changes are smart and welcome changes. It will take a while to get used to, because the location of certain menus and data have been moved from where they have been for a decade. It's a love it or hate type of deal. There are some steps backwards, such as not being able to see the horsepower of your tractor without going to the shop and choosing customize. Yes, that's the only way. I personally have no issue with the new store layout, though some apparently do. You scroll up and down a list now instead of side to side as before. Scrolling is scrolling, and I don't understand the hate for one direction over another. The vehicle list feels like a major step backwards from the previous game. Let me just make some broad examples, because equipment typically comes down to personal preference. For example, there are no JCB tractors anymore. So, if you're a fan of those...sorry, you have to wait for mods. But there are some very non-sensical choices here. There is only ONE baler that has a built in wrapper. There is no belt to pick up crops from the ground. If you like potatoes, for example, and put them on the ground...you're going to be shoveling those with a bucket because there is no belt to use on them. This choice is even more bizarre when you realize they left the other two belts in the game. Which makes them virtually useless without the ground feed belt. They add an all electric Volvo semi, but then removed nearly all the other electric vehicles. A step forward, two steps back. While the base game does have plenty of new vehicles and equipment, starting with more than the previous game had at launch, many of the removals seems odd choices. The major brands are here, but in many ways greatly reduced options. Kubota, for example, has only one single tractor now. While it was a DLC for Farm Sim 22, the pack had half a dozen tractors across small to medium ranges. Now, you get the biggest. That's it. The USA map that is part of most of the promotional material, is a buggy mess. Visually, it's great. Barges roaming by, ferries to carry you across the river, detailed in a lot of areas that they have never done before. It's a map that feels alive. Once those bugs are fixed, it should be a favorite map for many. It's not filled with giant fields, it's organic and feels like a real place. But that also leads to the discussion of weird choices. The map is an old farming town, filled with rusted metal buildings and worn down barns, etc. But the equipment you can use on it are new. They feel very out of place on this map. The options for old farm equipment is very limited. It's a huge miss. Sure, brands want their biggest and shiniest new stuff in the game, but players also want some old school options. Baling requires you to now buy netting to make bales, it's not optional, it cannot be turned off. There are several options to choose from in game, which adds some color and style to your bales, and adds some realism. Just don't put your bales in the storage building, you can't get them out. Yeah, it's a bug that will be fixed eventually, but honestly it should have been hot-fixed already. Imagine having your entire winters worth of silage bales stored, only to find you can't get them out when you need to fee the cattle. Not the end of the world, because you CAN buy bales...but it definitely breaks the flow and make for a frustrating experience, and makes you wonder how it made it past testing... And right now, that's a huge thing. There are some very game breaking bugs here. I personally reported over 75 bugs, and the game has been out less than a week. Giants always send the game out early to content creators, but either they aren't very good at finding and reporting bugs, or Giants just hasn't worked on them. Because this is the worst launch Giants has ever had for a game. Tractors getting locked on the ferry and can't be moved, resetting crashes the game. Just stuck. Baby sheep can sometimes grow up to be cows instead, which aren't legally allowed in a sheep barn. You can't sell them or move them, they are just there. Can't even feed them, so you get nothing from them. Direct seeders don't work on a mulched field...and any crop that doesn't leave straw will leave behind a mulched field when you harvest it. Field stones, which were bugged in FS22, are still bugged here...if you know. And so many more....from small annoyances to completely game-breaking. The game will get fixed, I do believe that, but as a gamer I am tired of games releasing in a state that is so bad it ruins the fun. I have had to start over three times in my 40 hours of play, not because I did something wrong, but because the game broke in a way that set me back so far it wasn't worth continuing, or was just flat out was unplayable. And we might as well throw it in the bucket too, achievements still give you no clue how to get them. Just driving down the road and trigger three achievement unlocks, no idea why or how, even after unlocking them. Overall, the game will be good eventually. It will probably be an adored addition to the franchise in a month or so when they work out the bugs and performance issues. But right now, it's a frustrating mess. It's on par with most new games released these days, but I can help but feel disrespected by the terrible state this game is in. And it's tiresome that this is how games are released these days. That's my major beef with the game, how much fun it COULD be is ruined by frustrating crap that never should have made it release. Even if you love the changes, there is no excusing this buggy mess of a release. And for that reason I cannot recommend it. It's time for developers to get the message that it's not acceptable.
